Tiny Pencil Magazine

Vandaag wil ik jullie graag laten kennis maken met Tiny Pencil magazine. Ik ben zwaar verliefd op dit magazine, sinds ik het voor het eerst (via Facebook) leerde kennen! Toen ik het magazine ontdekte was het nog niet uit, dus ik plaatste een pre-order en wachtte geduldig. Ondertussen is het magazine (al een tijdje) uit en heb ik het al meerdere keren genietend doorbladerd, ik kan er namelijk niet genoeg van krijgen!

// Today I want to introduce you to Tiny Pencil magazine. I’m seriously in love with this magazine, ever since the first day I discovered its existence. When I first heard about the magazine, the first issue hadn’t been released yet and I had to pre-order. A couple of weeks later I had the real magazine in my hands and it’s been in those hand a couple of times, since I really love everything about this magazine!

Tiny Pencil is een magazine dat potlood-gebasseerde kunst wil vieren en een plaats wil bieden. Het is niet per se een traditioneel magazine, als in artikels met tekst en foto’s. Neen, het is gewoon de meest geweldige collectie tekeningen die je je kan bedenken. Voor het allereerste zine lieten de “fine purveyors of the lead arts” een heleboel verschillende illustratoren en illustratrices los op het thema bos.

// Tiny Pencil is a magazine that wants to celebrate the pencil arts and also provide a space for them in a magazine and on their website. It isn’t a traditional magazine, no texts and photos here. All it is, is the most amazing collection drawings you can imagine. For their first issue the “fine purveyors of the lead arts” found a bunch of illustrators and asked them to work around the theme of forests, resulting in 60+ pages of awesomeness. 

Om maar een paar geweldige tekenaars (mijn favorieten) die aan dit magazines deelnamen, op te sommen: Sandra Dieckmann, Rachel M. Bray, Caitlin Hackett, Amber Hsu, Lisa Evans & Nick Sheehy.

Ondertussen is er ook een Tiny Pencil Summerzine met als thema Monsters, Mammals & Mars, waar ik nog popelend voor mijn brievenbus op zit te wachten! Alle informatie over het summerzine is terug te vinden op de Tiny Pencil website. Het magazine is niet te koop in België (voor zover ik weet), dus bestellen moet via de site (maar gaat super makkelijk ;)).

// Since the release of their first edition, they’ve also made a Tiny Pencil Summerzine. This time it’s themed: Monsters, Mammals & Mars. Of course I also had to pre-order this one and I’ve been eyeing my mail box expectantly. All the information about the summerzine can be found on the Tiny Pencil website. I don’t think the magazine is for sale in Belgium, so you’ll have to order via the website (which is very easy ;)).
