Last part of the July Bookish Photo Challenge! I made this last week hard for myself. Making myself photograph book recommendations, book stack poems and a fricking selfie. I don’t do selfies! But for the sake of the challenge I took twohundred of them just to find a semi-decent one to upload. #dedication.
Day 24: Color Coded: those are all the green (ish) books my little assistant could find on my shelves. I also have a bunch of red books, but sadly nothing yellow and very little blue. Which color do you find most on your shelves?
Day 25 – Favourite Genre: Don’t ask me what my favourite genre is. I can’t pick one, it’s just books. 🙂
Day 26 – Book Stack Poem: poetry isnt my thing. I tried.

Day 27 – Book recommendation: The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer. I’m almost halfway through this book and I loved every part of it. Might be because I’m a bit of Dresden Dolls fan, might also be because Palmer is pretty awesome. I’m actually listening to the Audio book, which has bits of music in it and is narrated by Amanda Palmer, so I highly recommend the audio book version!
Day 28 – Book Selfie: Me with a book. Hardest photo of the challenge. Thank god for ig filters and delete options. (But I am really happy with my copy of Uprooted that got delivered this morning, can’t wait to start reading this one!
Day 29 – Prettiest Cover: Have you ever bought a book because of how pretty the cover was? I fell in love with the cover of The Strangler Vine whilst shopping one day. I didn’t buy it then, I bought it recently when I found it cheap as fuck on Amazon. Haven’t read it yet, but I’ve stared at the cover for way too long.
Day 30 – Bookhaul: This month’s bookhaul consists mostly of second hand books I bought to complete some series and one new buy (Chew vol. 1). Not a big haul, but I’m very glad I now have the complete Inheritance Cycle in hardcover editions.
Day 31 – Read in july: Not too bad. I started and finished the Infernal Devices series, I finished Unnatural Creatures and De Avonturen van Alice in Wonderland and also read Chew vol. 1.
So, that was my complete July Bookish Photo Challenge! I have to admit, it was hard to keep finding new books to photograph and to find new angles to photograph them in. It did make me want to read more! I think I like the normal photo challenges better though.

Laatste deel van de July Bookish Photo Challenge! I had het mijzelf moeilijk gemaakt in de laatste week. Er zaten onder andere een aanprijzing van een boek in, een boek stapel gedicht en een selfie! Ik doe nooit selfies, maar speciaal voor deze photo challenge maakte ik een uitzondering. Ik hoefde maar tweehonderd selfies maken vooraleer ik er eentje had waar ik redelijk ok op stond. #doorzettingsvermogen
Day 24: Color Coded: Al mijn groene boeken op een stapeltje! Ik heb blijkbaar ook nog een hele stapel rode boeken, maar vreemd genoeg geen gele en maar een paar blauwe. Waarom zijn boek covers zo onavontuurlijk met hun kleuren?
Day 25 – Favourite Genre: Vraag mij niet wat mijn favoriete boekgenre is, want ik zou het niet kunnen zeggen. Ik ga het op “boeken” houden. 🙂
Day 26 – Book Stack Poem: Ahum. Dichten isn niet mijn ding.

Day 27 – Book recommendation: The Art of Asking door Amanda Palmer. Ik ben bijna halverwege dit boek en ik heb al van iedere pagina genoten! Nuja, pagina, ik ben naar de audiobook versie aan het luisteren die door Amanda Palmer zelf is ingesproken, wat het extra leuk maakt.
Day 28 – Book Selfie: Ik met een boek. Ahum, voor mij de moeilijkste opdracht van de photo challenge. Gelukkig zijn er Instagram filters en delete opties. (Ik ben wel heel erg blij met mijn exemplaar van Uprooted dat vandaag afgeleverd werd, ik kan niet wachten om aan dit boek te beginnen!
Day 29 – Prettiest Cover: Hebben jullie al ooit een boek gekocht omdat de cover zo mooi was dat je het niet kon laten liggen? Ik kwam The Strangler Vine op een dag tegen terwijl ik aan het winkelen was en werd verliefd op de cover! Ik kocht het toen niet direct, maar toen het onlangs voor weinig geld op Amazon te vinden was, heb ik niet lang getwijfeld.
Day 30 – Bookhaul: Deze maand kocht ik vooral tweedehandse boeken, om zo een paar series te vervolledigen waarvan ik een of twee boeken had. Daarnaast kocht ik Chew vol.1 als onderdeel van mijn “koop bij de lokale boekenwinkel” uitdaging. Niet super veel boeken (en ook helemaal niet duur ^-^), maar ik ben wel heel erg blij dat ik nu de volledige Inheritance Cycle in hardcover heb, ik was namelijk al een paar jaar aan het uitkijken naar de ontbrekende boeken.
Day 31 – Read in july: In totaal las ik zes boeken in juli, wat niet slecht is. Ik begon met de Infernal Devices serie en las die ook volledig uit. Daarnaast las ik Unnatural Creatures en Alice in Wonderland uit, boeken waar ik al voor juli aan begonnen was. Tussendoor las ik ook nog Chew.
Zo, dat was mijn volledige July Bookish Photo Challenge! Hoewel ik het heel erg leuk vond om door mijn boekenkast te gaan en mijn boeken eens vast te nemen, vond ik het ook behoorlijk moeilijk om op den duur nog boeken te vinden die ik nog niet eerder had gefotografeerd. Laat staan om nieuwe manieren te vinden om ze te fotograferen zonder naar de winkel achter props te moeten lopen. Het zorgde er wel voor dat ik nog meer wou lezen, maar ik denk dat ik gewone photo challenges leuker vind. 🙂
